Kay's Residence - Living Room / Lounge DesignProject Overview:We had a beautiful but difficult to decorate living room. We had made it through the little kid years when our living room housed drum sets, play tables, and old sofas. When I wanted to go upscale, I called Kobby. I had an idea but didn't know how to translate it into a room design. The concept was to create a space where people could meet and socialize in a cozy yet interesting and visually exciting space. When I thought of the type of space, I thought of the author, Gertrude Stein, and her salon in Paris which was a mecca for artists and writers in the 1920's. Gertrude Stein wrote "A rose is a rose is a rose..." and other convoluted poetry and prose. Her salon was the hang out for people like Picasso, Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and other notables. So I told Kobby, let's create a salon like that! He did the research and we were off!
